What is the Homeowner Rehabilitation Program?
The program provides homeowners with funds to repair or rehabilitate their owner-occupied home or qualified condominium.
The following repairs are eligible:
• Repair or replacement of a roof,
• Plumbing,
• Hurricane protection,
• Painting of exterior for preservation purposes,
• Installation or repair of heating and/or cooling system,
• Improvements to add or increase handicap accessibility,
• Other improvements which may be needed to bring homes up to minimum code standards,
• Repairs or improvements which are needed for safe and sanitary habitation,
• Repairs or improvements which increase energy efficiency and, therefore,affordability, in a unit,
• The creation of additional living space when necessary to accommodate additional family members,
• Mandatory sewer hook-up, and
• Treatment of mold.
